Jack Risley, professor of studio art and chair of the University of Texas’ Department of Art and Art History is stepping down, the UT College of Fine Arts announced today.
Risley’s wife, Amy Hauft, also a professor in the UT art department, has been appointed director of Washington University’s College and the Graduate School of Art in the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts. Risley and Hauft will be moving to St. Louis.
A sculptor, Risley came to UT in 2012 from Virginia Commonwealth University. Hauft was chair of the sculpture program at VCU before coming to UT where she was named the Leslie Waggener Professor in Sculpture.
Recently, U.S. News and World Report ranked UT’s MFA in Sculpture program seventh nationally.
