Austin Film Festival pivots to digital for 2020

-

Another of Austin’s signature fall festivals has announced it will pivot to digital.

The Austin Film Festival, scheduled for October 22-29, will be presented entirely online.

The Texas Book Festival announced in June that it would be held on a digital platform. And on July 1, the Austin City Limits music festival announced cancellation of its two-weekend event.

Austin Film Festival, with its focus on writers, is adding an extra day to its lineup of panels and workshops. Among those featured are Lindsay Doran (producer “Sense and Sensibility”), Scott Frank (writer “Get Shorty”), Kevin Willmott (cowriter “Da 5 Bloods”), and Tracey Scott Wilson (writer “Respect”). An anticipated 30 or more films will screen as well.

You can purchase a Virtual Badge for $175 which includes all workshops, panels and films, or for $30 you can get the Virtual Film Pass. See austinfilmfestival.com
