Open to Travis County artists at any career level, Crit Group is a free career development program that involves monthly meetings that may be art critiques or one-on-one studio visits and a series of discussion sessions about topics including writing an effective artist’s statement, applying for grants and residencies, arts marketing and creating a good work-life balance.
The 2020 Crit Group will culminate in a group exhibition at Austin’s grayDUCK Gallery, opening on August 8 and on view through Sept. 6, 2020.
Making the selection were Crit Group co-leaders artist Sterling Allen, noted independent curator Annette DiMeo Carlozzi, and Andrea Mellard, the Contemporary’s director of public programs.
