Texas Book Festival has added a couple of top author events to its schedule.

Pete Souza was Chief Official White House Photographer for President Obama, and captured many now-famous moments during the administration of the two-term Democratic president. When Souza left the White House in 2017, he began posting photographs on Instagram from the Obama years along with captions that vividly define the contrast between the Obama and Trump. Souza’s Instagram has 1.9 million followers.

Souza will discuss his new book “Shade: A Tale of Two Presidents” on Oct. 26, the book festival’s concluding event. In anticipation of a large crowd, the event will be held at the Long Center. Tickets are $39-$59.

On October 27, Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood Federation of America and daughter of the late Governor Ann Richards, will discuss her book “Make Trouble: Standing Up, Speaking Out, and Finding the Courage to Lead—My Life Story.”

Richards speaks at 10 a.m. Oct. 27. Tickets are $30 and include a signed copy of the book.
