Richard Linklater and author Melissa Maerz to discuss ‘Alright, Alright, Alright,’ an oral history of ‘Dazed and Confused’

The Austin Film Society will host a special virtual conversation with Richard Linklater and author and entertainment journalist Melissa Maerz to celebrate the official launch of her new book, “Alright, Alright, Alright: The Oral History of Richard Linklater’s Dazed and Confused” at 7 p.m. Nov. 18

The conversation will be moderated by Andy Greenwald, co-host of popular podcast The Watch on the Ringer Podcast Network. Since its release in 1993, “Dazed and Confused” has solidified its position as one of the most enduring films of the 90s.

Bringing experience from Entertainment Weekly, Vice, Rolling Stone, and the Los Angeles Times, Maerz has written the story of how this iconic film came together and why it worked. For this one special evening, Linklater and Maerz will join Greenwald on the virtual stage to talk about the making of the film, its memorable cast and their first-person accounts, and lasting legacy.
