NEA awards Texas arts groups $1.27 million in latest round of grants

Women & Their Work, Creative Action among Austin arts organizations receiving NEA support


In the first of two fiscal year 2019 grant announcements, the National Endowment of the Arts today named recipients of three of the agency’s funding categories: Art Works and Challenge America to support projects by nonprofit organizations, and Creative Writing Fellowships.

Texas was awarded 52 grants in a total of $1,277,000. The Austin area recipients are:

Austin-based poet Charlie Clark received a $25,000 NEA Creative Writing Fellowship. Literature and translation fellowships are the NEA’s only grants to individual artists still available.
