The line-up for this year’s East Austin Studio Tour has been announced.
Some 555 participants are included in the free, self-guided tour which runs Nov. 10-11 and Nov. 17-18.
Tour presenter Big Medium has this year organized the roster of EAST participants with a little more specificity. There 202 artists in a studio, 73 guest artists in a studio, 47 artists in a gallery, 73 group exhibitions, 123 artists in temporary spaces, 28 happenings and nine public libraries shows.
Big Medium also worked with a three-member panel to select artists. Panel members were curator and chair of the Austin Arts Commission Jaime Castillo, artist Christina Coleman and artist Teruko Nimura.
The area circumscribed by EAST is east of I-35west of Hwy. 183, south of Hwy. 183 and north of E. Riverside Drive — an area that includes the Montopolis and Riverside neighborhoods south of Lady Bird Lake/Colorado River.
This year’s is the 17th iteration of the tour.
