Attention Austin musicians and artists: You can now get a $1000 travel stipend from the city to promote your project — and Austin’s creative community — if you travel nationally or internationally.

The city’s Cultural Arts and Music and Entertainment divisions have reinstated the  Creative Ambassadors Program. It had been suspended for about a year as the city worked out how the program fit into a larger cultural tourism strategy.

Individual musicians, visual artists, filmmakers and performing artists, as well as . Austin-based arts organizations that already have confirmed plans to travel nationally or internationally to present or promote their work, can once again apply for travel funds.

The program runs on an annual cycle and provides $1,000 grants for ten recipients.

Applications will be accepted from Oct. 1- Dec. 1, 2018. Complete program guidelines and a link to the application system may be found at www.austintexas.gov/department/creative-ambassadors.

Selected applicants will be announced in January 2019.
