The City of Austin is offering $20,000 relief grants to arts and culture groups hit hard due to the economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Austin Arts & Culture Non-Profit Relief Grant provides 100 one-time unrestricted $20,000 grants to local arts and culture non-profit organizations. Eligible non-profit organizations must be able to provide a 2019 and/or 2020 federal income tax return (990s).

In April, the city’s arts funding was projected to decrease 93% from pre-pandemic levels and the funding process for next year was put on pause.

In June, the Austin City Council designated $2 million from Austin’s allocation from the Federal American Rescue Plan Act for the arts grants.

The application opens at 10 a.m. July 14  and closes at 5 p.m. Aug. 2.
