Broadway in Austin postpones early 2021 shows

-

With Broadway shows in New York already cancelled until at least May 2021, it comes as no surprise that touring Broadway productions are following suit.

Producers of Broadway in Austin today announced that three shows it had planned for the first quarter of 2021 — “Tootsie,” “To Kill A Mockingbird,” and “Mean Girls” — have been postponed until yet-to-be-scheduled future dates.

Say producers: “While there may be additional scheduling changes in the season, subscribers can be assured that if any performances are canceled, they will have the option to receive a credit, refund, or the ability to donate the value of their tickets. Single ticket on sale dates for individual shows will be announced at a later time.”

Broadway in Austin shows are staged at UT’s Bass Concert Hall. See austin.broadway.com/shows/ for more information. The current schedule of shows is:

  • “Wicked” — April 21-May 9, 2021
  • “Hadestown” — June 1-6, 2021
  • Roald Dahl’s “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” — July 20-25, 2021
  • “Summer: The Donna Summer Musical” — September 7–12, 2021
