Big Medium Picks Five Artists for this year’s LINE Residency

Five Austin artists have been selected to participate in the LINE Residency, a six-week opportunity for visual artists to have a private studio space within the downtown LINE Austin Hotel. Arts organization Big Medium instigated the program in collaboration with the hotel, and stewards the program which is now in it second year.

Artists chosen for this year’s residency are Brooke Burnside, Alie Jackson, Natalia Rocafuerte, Saul Jerome San Juan, and Suzanne Wyss.

Residences begin in March and continue through December. Artists are provided with a private studio space (i.e., a room) in the LINE hotel and given access to all its amenities. While in residence, the artists are encouraged to share their work and process and become involved with the hotel, its guests and its staff. Each artist will have open hours as well as host one public event during their time in residence.
