Austin School of Fiber Arts to open in April

The new Austin School of Fiber Arts will open in April.

The non-profit organization, led by executive director Lynne Brotman, is dedicated to the promotion, cultivation and preservation of the fiber arts through the advancement of educational programs of fiber art skills and history.

It will open in the Canopy complex at 916 Springdale Road.

Upcoming classes and workshops will spotlight Japanese Shibori dyeing, rug felting, the traditional Yoruba techniques of Adire Eleko and Tie-Dye, and basket weaving.
